Born in a flat.
Built for the streets.
A story about passion, secret sauce, and one very dangerous backyard grill.
It started in 2019 with a dodgy BBQ, three mates, and an argument about what makes a perfect burger. Marcus, who'd spent years flipping patties at late-night spots across London, had a theory β it wasn't about fancy ingredients. It was about the smash.
He'd press his patties so hard against the flat-top that the meat caramelised into a crispy, lacey, golden crust. The kind that gets stuck in your teeth in the best possible way. He called it his "Funk Press". His mates called it legendary.
Word spread through Brixton, through Hackney, through group chats and late-night texts. By 2021, the Funk Burgers pop-up was selling out in under 2 hours every Friday. By 2023, we had a home β right in the heart of Central London.
We're not fine dining. We're not fast food. We're Funk Burgers. And we want you in the kitchen with us.
